It doesn't work yet, so you show them the coin again in your hands, switching it from hand to hand a few times for misdirection before repeating to rub the coin on your arm again. First you condition their brain by really rubbing the coin on your arm/elbow using your other hand while mentionning how difficult this trick is, etc, etc. Flex your arm so that you show your elbow up, this will bring your hand to your neck (this is important). The act: easier with no sleeves or pull your sleeve all the way up. Extra awesomeness if you have someone else in on it with you, they can discretely go hide extra coins while you continue the performance, and hide them exactly where kids wish to find them, sometimes in their own pockets if your assistant is discrete enough. Keep one of the coins to begin the trick. Under a cup on the counter, under the rug, under a pillow, in a doll's pockets, in mama's left shoe, you get the idea. Not in full view, but not too hard to find by themselves. Prepare without anyone knowing beforehand, by hiding the coins in your surrounding environment, wherever you would like your kids to find them (and remember where they all are). The preparation: have a set of multiple identical coins to use for the trick. You can repeat this as many times as you want, and sometimes appearing in a place the kid chooses on demand (depending on your skills or arrangements). The kids go to find it and bring it back and obviously want a repeat. The effect: you rub a coin (a penny back in my young days) on your elbow so hard that it vanishes into thin air, only to travel and reappear anywhere in the house, or room, or anywhere you'd like. Good for an hour or so of entertainment at least. I actually went on to learn so much in magic in my teens up to professional level and while I since moved on from that hobby, I do this simple trick with kids and it's a win every time. My grand father used to do this trick when I was a kid and it sparked something in me. Oh do I have the perfect trick for you dads for that age group.
